The Troublesome American Burnweed

Each weed in your lawn has different characteristics. American burnweed has the unique ability to germinate in the thatch of your grass. This characteristic lets it bypass your pre-emergent application, making it troublesome even if you have a spray tech servicing your lawn. Burnweed pops up quickly in the early spring and has broad, light green, jagged leaves. If conditions are right, it can be very invasive.

We were notified by a customer in Grovetown, Ga. that she had several weeds emerging from her lawn. Fortunately, burnweed has a shallow root system and is not difficult to control. We soon had all of her weeds gone and her yard looking good. Since she was an existing weed control customer, the service call was free.
